Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Come one, come all and celebrate the magic of the holiday season in Historic Downtown McKinney for the annual City of McKinney Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Don't miss one of a kind entertainment, along with a special message from Mayor Bill Whitfield and City Manager Frank Ragan.

Visits with Santa
Located at MPAC - the center of Historic Downtown McKinney Friday - Saturday, November 28 and November 29 (noon - 8 p.m.) and Sunday, November 30 (1 - 5 p.m.)

Believe! 2008
November 29, (morning, times vary) Located at Mitchell Park - one block west of the square
10K Certified Believe! Run, 5K Certified Believe! Run, 1 Mile Holiday Walk, the Great Santa Chase for kids 12 and under, holiday shopping, wonderful unique restaurants, and all the fun activities associated with the 28th Annual Dickens of a Christmas. Make sure you make arrangements to get your FREE Holiday portraits taken at the St. Andrews tent located on the square during the three-day Dickens event. Carriage Rides
Make a wonderful memory by taking a horse drawn carriage ride around through the Historic District during Dickens of a Christmas weekend. The carriage rides will take place at the Heard-Craig House located at 205 W. Hunt Street, just two blocks off the square. Hours are Friday, November 28 (2 - 7 p.m.), Saturday, November 29 (1 - 6 p.m.) and Sunday, Novmeber 30 (1 - 5 p.m.), all rides are free.

Snow Tubing Hill
Snow is coming to McKinney again, but in a different way than in years past. The big event at Dickens of a Christmas this year will be the Snow Tubing Hill. It doesn't matter if you are young or old everyone will enjoy this fun ride.

Letters to Santa
If you want to get your wish list to Santa by Christmas take the time to write him your own letter at Dickens of a Christmas. Hosted by the Shops of North Kentucky Street: Petals & Vine, Sugar Plums, Made of Sugar and Spice, Yoga Balance, Imaging on the Square, Pumps!, Stained Glass of McKinney and One of a Kind.

McKinney Repertory Theatre Presents "A Christmas Carol"

Bring your entire family to enjoy MRT's productions of Dickens' timeless story. This adaptation of the enduring classic places special emphasis on the ghostly apparitions in the spirit of Dickens' original text, and is full of Victorian song accompanied by music on the vintage theatre pipe organ.
